Do you keep cats in your home or in the client's home?
Cat sitting is always done at the client's home! This is much less stressful on your cat(s) and allows them to feel safe in their comfort zone. I do not offer boarding outside of client homes.
How does booking work?
It’s easy! Online booking is fast and convenient, or you can book over the phone via call, text or email.
Email is required even for guest checkout so you can receive your quote/invoice.
When are you available?
365 days a year! Yes, even holidays.
Appointment times are generally as follows;
Daily
9:00AM-11:30AM, 1:00PM-4:00PM
When is payment due?
Payment for the reservation is due at least 48 hours before the reservation is set to start or reservation may be canceled due to nonpayment.
What is your cancellation policy?
Prior to 48 hrs: 100% refund
Within 48 hrs: no refunds
You can cancel or reschedule a reservation up to 1hr before the start time either call & leave a voicemail OR text at 501.446.0000.
I offer a very flexible cancellation system, please just let me know as soon as you can if something changes. No refunds for cancellations within 48hrs of reservation. Full refund if before 48 hrs notice. Thank you.
If you return early from your trip, no partial or full refunds as payment and reservation was confirmed ahead of time. Thank mew for your understanding.
What if I reschedule, does my payment go towards the rescheduled visit(s)?
Yes! If you've paid for a visit, and suddenly need to push it back, within my availability I will accommodate the change in schedule. And instead of issuing a new invoice, I will apply your original payment to the new reserved blocks. Please notify me as soon as you can!
If you are adding services after paying, I will send a new invoice for the updated services.
If you are removing services after paying, cancellation policy applies. If within 48hrs start, no refund but calendar will be updated to reflect the change in visits. If before 48hrs of visit start, I will issue a partial refund.
If there are no changes in services after paying, but you just need to reschedule the dates, I will instead confirm the new dates for the same amount of visits, no need for a new invoice. Updating my calendar is WAY easier than you waiting 3-5 business days on a card refund, then processing the new charge... you get the idea.
Can I Mix and Match visits?
Yes, absolutely. You can choose the length and frequency of the visit depending on availability.
What if my return home is delayed? Can I book you last minute?
Yes, with exceptions to my availability. Payment for a last minute service will be due immediately and is on a case by case basis. If you suspect your return is delayed, please don't hesitate to reach out as appointments can fill up quickly. Please keep a back up option in mind. I can refer you to another sitter if I am unavailable upon request.

When is the new client registration due?

Is there an option for a virtual consultation?
Yes! Choose the Consultation - Virtual option.
What do I need to do to prepare for the virtual consultation?

How long is the consultation?
About 15 minutes or less usually.
Do I need a Vet Release/Authorization form?
It is not required but it is highly recommended. I recommend contacting your vet of choice to inform them that you will be using my services, and follow their instructions.
What length of stay do you recommend for each visit?
For 1-2 cats the 30 minute visit.
For 2+ the 60 minute visit.
What is the “Tasks and Leave”? Option?
Great question! This is a great option for those with scaredy cats who don't want any stranger near them - but you still want their basic necessities covered and your house watched out for. If you choose this option, I'll know that during my visit after confirming the cat(s) are okay I will focus on the tasks only. Letting the cats just be chill without fear of being touched. Some cats really don't like it - I know my oldest, Sushi, is like that until she gets to know them.
What happens if you lose the key to my house?
Don’t panic! While I hope this never happens, I am human. So that’s why I’m insured by Pet Care Insurance. In the event the key is lost we will work together to find the solution that works best for you.
Are you insured?
Yes, through Pet Care Insurance.

Do you offer gift certificates?
Absolutely! You can purchase gift cards from my website, here.
Does loyalty, refer a friend, or gift certificates expire?
Nope, never, just like microplastics.
Where do you serve?

Is there a mileage fee outside of this radius?
Yes. $5 or more depending on location from my office.
Do you have (or have you had) your own cats?
I have! I first got cats when I was a toddler, and I knew right away I would be a cat human. I’ve always sought out cats in my life and had them at every point in my life. I currently have four wonderful little friends to keep me company! They’re my everything!
Can I learn more about your cats? They’re adorable!
Of course you can learn more about my cats!
Sushi was born in 2012, and was adopted at two months old from the Bryant Animal Shelter.
Lucy was born in 2015, and was adopted also at two months from a friend of a friend situation.
Sassy was born in 2018, and later in 2021 was surrendered to me due to negligence.
Lucifer was born in ????, and was adopted early 2022 by the cat distribution system. (a fancy way of saying he was a stray and I never found if he had a previous owner)
Can I see your cats?
Of course, silly! Here, meet the team.
How long have you been a cat owner?
Since I was a toddler actually! I’ve always had cats in my life.
Have you cared for others' cats/offered cat-sitting services before?
I have actually. I have been the official cat sitter for my friends and family.
I also worked briefly as a Meowtel cat sitter, an online cat sitting booking platform. I was the only sitter in Arkansas through this service!
Do you have cat-related volunteer experience (with a shelter or cat-rescue group)?
Minimally, but something I’d like to continue to grow with.
What types of cats do you have experience with?
Sick cats, senior cats, mean cats, hairless cats, I’m a girl’s girl but for cats.
Are there any cats you do not have experience with?
Cats with diabetes, I’ve never given insulin though I will learn to.
Are you trained in cat first aid & CPR?
Yes, through the American Red Cross.
Do you possess any other relevant training in cat care, cat behavior or cat health?
I am Cat and Dog First Aid certified through the American Red Cross. Valid until 07/26/2026.
I am certified through Pet Sitter’s International for Cat Sitting Fundamentals.
I am also a life-long pet parent, and have given medications such as topical ointments, pills, and liquid medications.
Are there cat professionals (e.g., a veterinarian, groomer, etc.) who can provide references as to the good care you give your own cat(s)?
Yes, Countryside Animal Hospital has said they’d refer me. I love their staff! All of the veterinarians there I'd highly recommend and the front office staff is top notch. All my cats go here!
Are you licensed, insured, and have a clear background check?
Yes, yes, and yes! I can provide documentation to all of these upon request.
So why "Cat Sitting by Marie?" and not "Krista?"
This is great question! A lot of people have a hard time spelling or saying my first name, and to avoid confusion, I knew my middle name, Marie, had a clear sound to it. My middle name comes from my great-grandmother, Marie H., and she meant a lot to me growing up. I was lucky to have met some of my great-grandparents!
I grew up mostly with her daughter, my grandmother, who had a lot of cats that lived outside. So, I have no problem with my first name, in fact I love it! It's very unique and it is what I go by.
I thought a lot about the name for the business, and I knew I wanted two things: easy to search online, and easier to remember. So that's it really! I just wanted the name to be easier for folks. And look at you, reading this, so I must've been right. ;)
How long have you been in business?
Cat Sitting by Marie was established August 2024.
Where did you get your logo?
I commissioned a wonderful graphic artist who goes by the handle SachaSleeps. Here is her link - https://sachasleeps.carrd.co/
I highly recommend working with her on all your graphic design needs! She also streams on Twitch, so be sure to check her out if that’s your thing.
Who would you recommend for dogs or other animals?
